Telepoles
Telepoles, also
known as telescoping poles are an integral part of keeping your
swimming pool clean. They skim items off the surface of the pool
such as leaves, and pick up items at the bottom of the pool such as
coins or hairpins. They are either made of fiberglass or aluminum.
The poles which range in size from a 4-foot pole that can telescope
to an 8-foot pole; to a 12-foot pole that telescopes up to 24-feet,
and a couple of sizes in between. (The poles can become longer by
pulling the inside pole out of the outside pole.) The ideal size
pole for most pools is the 8-foot long pole that telescopes up to
16-feet. Telepoles are equipped with a handgrip so that your hands
will not slip as you are "skimming" the pool. Some of the poles are
equipped with a magnet at the end that will pick up such items as
hairpins or nails from the bottom of the pool. A cam lock or
compression nut ring locks the two poles together.
