Keep your pool sparkling clean with a wall and floor brush!

It is important to keep the side of your pool clean and free from dirt, algae and other materials and to prevent stains from forming. Since there can be a lot of dirt, debris, stains and other matter sticking to the surface of the pool, a special swimming pool/spa wall brush is used to scrub away and remove those elements. The handle of these types of brushes are usually made of an aluminum frame and contain an aluminum stem that fits the telepole. The brushes are generally composed of nylon bristles, although some may be made of stainless steel (not wire). These bristles can be either straight across or somewhat curved. For steps and pool corners, the curved brushes work best.

The sides of the swimming pool should be cleaned regularly with the brush because mineral and organic deposits on the sides of the pool can cause algae and bacteria to grow. You also want to maintain a swimming pool wherein both the actual pool and the water are clean and healthy.

Swimming pools that have a pebble finish must be brushed routinely (approximately once a week) in order to prevent a build up of dirt and debris between the pebbles.

There are different sizes of wall brushes available. The most often used are 18 inch wide brushes. The brushes should be stainless steel rather than wire because if wire bristles are snapped off during brushing they may rust and leave stains on the plaster. In addition, the wire could be rusty when used and the rust can be transferred to the plaster which would cause a stain.
